Time series dataset

Decomposition

Separating time series data into different components that capture distinct aspects of the data, expressing it as a sum of several underlying components

  1. Trend - long-term changes, typically modelled as a smooth curve
  2. Seasonal - regular, periodic fluctuations occurring over a fixed period, modelled as a set of repeating patterns
  3. Residual - random or irregular fluctuations, modelled as a series of random noise
