Bookmarks

Raindrop is currently my main bookmarking app.

Current implementation

It currently handles Twitter bookmarks and the occasional manual bookmark from Arc. I want to introduce bookmarks from Instagram and GitHub stars, and integrate the links/resources into Obsidian.

Attempt 0: Premium

• #~TODO I need to figure out a way to process my trove of bookmarks in a way that is useful to me. The app (free version at least) only supports keyword search. I want semantic search at least without having to pay for it. [completion:: 2025-01-22]

UPDATE (18-01-2025):

• I've paid for Raindrop. The semantic search is decent but I still need to manually tag searches
• I'm looking into a couple more bookmarking solutions:
  • Are.na
  • Pinterest

Ideas?

1. I do have n8n running: I can batch process all current bookmarks and store all new incoming ones
   • But then what is the most cost-efficient way to embed + semantic search
2. Worst case? Purchase Raindrop Pro for $5 a month
